Toggle the contentUniversity of Liège is one of Belgium's leading universities, founded in 1817. ULiège welcomes 29,000 students, 24% of whom are of international origin (141 nationalities). ULiège is the public university of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. It includes 11 Faculties representing the Humanities, Health Sciences, Sciences and Technology. With 39 bachelor's degrees and 194 master's degrees, its range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses is among the most diversified in Belgium.
ULiège is located in 3 cities in Wallonia: Liège, Gembloux and Arlon. Its courses have several international quality labels (EQUIS, AACSB, AEEEV, CTi Conférence des Grandes Ecoles). Uliège organizes 39 bachelor’s degrees and 243 master’s degrees (72 in full English or bilingual with a possible full track in English). ULiège collaborates with more than 1000 teaching and research institutions throughout the world, which are centered around 4 major concentration corners, namely: Europe, Central and French speaking Africa (RD Congo, Burundi, Rwanda), North America (Canada and New England), ASEAN (Vietnam, Cambogia, Japan). It boosts its research centers in fields such as biotechnologies, life and medical sciences (human and veterinary), agronomy, space and engineering sciences, environment, etc., by developing partnerships with public authorities and companies.
More than 100 spin-off companies created by ULiège are in activity. ULiège is a major employer in Wallonia: more than 5,900 employees, including 640 academic staff and 2,900 people involved in teaching and research activities. Together with the University Hospital (CHU) of Liège, this represents 12,000 direct jobs spread over the provinces of Liège, Namur and Luxembourg.
The University of Liège is an active and key partner of the Einstein Telescope project, which is offers great opportunities to developed close connections with Turkish Universities and Research Centres.The University of Liege is member of the European University Alliance of Post Industrial Cities which is includes also Koç University.
