On the first day of the #BEmissionBRA, HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium and the Belgian delegation visited Solvay's Paulínia site in São Paulo, focusing on sustainability and innovation. They highlighted two key projects: the Renova project, which has reduced CO2 emissions by 140,000 tons through a biomass boiler, and the Atlantis project, which saves 4.2 million m³ of water in a cooling system. The Paulínia site, one of the largest of its kind, has already achieved a 95% reduction in gas emissions. Solvay's efforts demonstrate how economic growth and sustainability can go hand in hand, showcasing Belgium's leadership in chemical innovation. The site also supports biodiversity initiatives, such as the Joaninha project, which educates children about ladybugs, and BeeRhodia, focused on preserving native species. During her visit, Princess Astrid had the opportunity to meet and greet with children of the Joaninha (Ladybug) Project.
