Minister for the Middle Class, the Self-Employed, and SMEs
Éléonore Simonet has been Belgium’s Minister for the Middle Class, the Self-Employed, and SMEs since February 2025. At 27, she is the youngest minister ever in a federal government.
She entered politics in 2024, running for office for the first time in the June regional elections, where she secured a seat in the Brussels Parliament. In October 2024, she was elected as a municipal councilor in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert.
Prior to her political career, Simonet worked as a corporate lawyer at the Brussels Bar, where she was admitted in September 2022. She holds a master’s degree in law from UCLouvain, with a specialization in civil law and criminal law.
