The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (A&M) is a cornerstone of the School of Engineering at the University of Liège, delivering education at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Its programs are tightly integrated with cutting-edge research, ensuring rapid transfer of scientific advances and technological innovations into the classroom. A&M develops advanced technologies and engineering solutions across high-impact domains, including aerospace engineering, materials and manufacturing processes, energy conversion, mechanical systems, and biomechanics. Building on the legacy of the former LTAS (Laboratoire de Techniques AéroSpatiales), the department has achieved international recognition in advanced numerical simulation, which constitutes a central pillar of its research strategy. State-of-the-art experimental facilities and strong methodological integration between modelling and experimentation reinforce this expertise. The department maintains close partnerships with leading industrial actors, including Safran, Sonaca, and Thales. A&M brings together more than 120 staff members, including 24 academics (20 full-time), four permanent researchers, and over 80 researchers, including PhD candidates.
