Established in 1974 in Brussels by Mr. Ünal Aysal, Unit International S.A. evolved from an international trading company into a diversified energy and investment group. Initially active in barter trade involving steel, industrial equipment, chemicals, and crude oil from Middle Eastern suppliers, the company progressively shifted its focus toward the power sector.
Today, Unit International S.A. operates across Turkey, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East, covering the full energy value chain. Its core expertise includes project development (land selection, licensing, contract negotiation, and financing), turnkey EPC construction, power plant operation and maintenance, electricity trading, and strategic investment.
Over the past 20 years, the company has developed and operated a 1,927 MW power portfolio, including renewable hydro assets, PPA-contracted CCGTs, and merchant CCGTs. It has executed major EPC projects totaling 3,230 MW in cooperation with international partners under BOO schemes.
Through joint ventures, it provides O&M services for large-scale CCGT plants in Turkey and serves approximately 3,000 retail electricity customers. Beyond energy, the company holds investments in biotechnology, tourism, and real estate, including high-profile assets in Istanbul.
