1000 Brussels
Founded in Brussels in 1990 by chef Alain Coumont, Le Pain Quotidien was born out of a passion for authentic bread and a clear vision of quality. Dissatisfied with the bread available at the time, Alain began baking his own organic sourdough using only four ingredients: water, flour, salt, and time.
At the heart of our concept is the communal table, more than just furniture—it represents the brand’s core values: quality, simplicity, authenticity, and togetherness. Each table encourages connection, conversation, and the joy of shared meals.
Le Pain Quotidien’s mission is to create meaningful memories, meal by meal, by bringing people together around authentic products in a spirit of sharing and conviviality. The brand promotes organic, local, simple, and delicious cuisine.
Le Pain Quotidien represents all-day bakery café experience offering freshly baked breads and pastries, generous sit-down meals in full-service restaurants.
Combining artisanal on-site production with a strong international franchising model, Le Pain Quotidien ensures sustainable growth and attractive profitability.
Today, with more than 240 restaurants across 24 countries on five continents, Le Pain Quotidien continues to accelerate its worldwide expansion through new openings, entries into emerging markets, franchise conversions, travel retail development, and strategic partnerships.
