AWA B. by Les Moussors de Awa is an unconventional, contemporary, ethical, and sustainable fashion brand specializing in handmade embroidered clothes and Moussorma (turbans and hats) and clothing, founded by Awa Seck.
Former jurist trained at the University of Saint-Louis Sénégal and then Bordeaux IV, France after more than 10 years of experience in human resources and marketing, Awa followed her passion for fashion. In 2016, she revived the moussor, a Senegalese accessory, restoring its prestige. Daughter of an embroiderer, Awa created her clothing line, which is characterized by the traditional embroidery of her hometown, Diourbel, known as SOR made by women.
This art adds a touch of refinement to her exclusive, highly functional, and timeless collections. With her Mbayar collection, upcycling and zero waste become central to the creative and production process of the brand.
The brand's culture is to highlight, through its creations, the free spirit and versatile personality of today's deconstructed, self-aware women and men as individual. A contemporary designer, drawing on her Baol Baol heritage—a know-how acquired from her Senegalese culture, her DNA, and her Brussels inspiration show her Belgitude lifestyle identity through her capsule collections.
Today, she collaborates with young people and mentors young girls so they can participate in the development of their region: Diourbel and have financial freedom.
