The required QR codes and documents you need to show when entering Japan

By registering required certificates online, such as Quarantine (Fast Track), Immigration and Customs Declaration, before arrival, quarantine procedure at the airport can be smoothly done by just showing the QR code (print version or on the screen of your phone). Visit the Visit Japan Web website and follow the registration instructions*. Clear instructions to fill in all information can be found here.

Travelers who do not have a smartphone/computer or who are not able to use the Visit Japan Web are requested to fill in the following questionnaire separately before departure. This can be done via the following link: https://arqs-qa.followup.mhlw.go.jp/#/. After answering all the questions, a QR code will be generated to be printed out. This print out must be shown to the immigration services upon arrival.

When travelling to Japan you will need to submit a certificate of vaccination of minimum 3 doses of a vaccine acknowledged by Japan OR the negative result of a COVID-19 test* performed less than 72 hours before the flight. Please note that the rules may be different (quarantine requirement, PCR test on arrival, etc.) if the traveller has stayed in another country within the last 14 days before travelling to Japan (more information, see here).

See also Border Control Measures for a complete overview of all measures to be taken before and after arrival.
